Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the heater kept it cozy when it was below 20 degrees outside. The extra blankets were a thoughtful touch. We met the down-to-earth owners, who are clearly passionate about the place. Their Virginia Creek trout project was a highlight, and you can feed the fish. We also enjoyed a campfire by the creek and made s’mores one night. The on-site restaurant served delicious steak and pasta, with a great wine selection. The food felt suited to outdoor lovers, without being overly fancy. The property is more than 100 years old but very well maintained, immaculate, warm, and full of charm. Check-in was quick and welcoming, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Virginia Creek Settlement was the highlight of our weekend and a real hidden gem in Bridgeport. We'll definitely return.

For one night over Thanksgiving weekend, our clean, warm, cozy cabin was just right for relaxing. Virginia Creek Settlement is peaceful, charming, and well maintained. The owners gave us free food even though the on-site restaurant was closed for the holiday, a very thoughtful surprise. We also appreciated that our pet stayed free. The welcome bag had s’mores supplies and fish food, which the kids loved using to feed the fish. The handmade souvenirs in the gift area were really cute too. The price was great, and the service was even better, genuinely kind and welcoming. We got far more than expected and highly recommend it.

Dinner out by the playground was a great way to switch off for a while, and the restaurant pizza is worth getting. The settlement itself sits right on Virginia Creek, with an easy walk to the water across a bridge. The owners even provide fish food for their creek breeding and repopulation program. The cabins and covered wagons are wonderfully unusual places to stay, especially if you enjoy a deliberately rustic feel. I’d like it here even without the creekside setting or restaurant.

The tent cabins were cozy on a cold October night, with plenty of warm blankets, and we appreciated the s’more’s supplies. The instructions for getting around the property were clear, and the shared bathrooms and kitchen were very clean. You can tell the owners care about the little details. The main road nearby is very busy, though, and the noise kept us awake much of the night, so we woke up exhausted. I know management can’t do much about the traffic, but earplugs along with the s’mores might help. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay and I’d recommend it.

We stopped here for breakfast during our anniversary road trip and had a really nice meal. Efran was friendly, welcoming, and full of helpful information, and our food arrived quickly. The food was good, too, so kudos to the cook. It’s a homey little restaurant, and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you stop in.
