The noise was what finally did it. Kids were screaming and adults were talking at the table right outside our door after 10, and the family above us had kids running back and forth and jumping on the bed. It sounded like the ceiling might come down, and none of us could sleep. My husband wanted to drive home, and after that night I think he was right. There were problems inside the room too. The door wasn't aligned, so the lock wouldn't secure properly, and the sofa bed was full of chip crumbs and other food. Neither TV worked at first, and we had only one remote. Staff wiggled some wires and said someone else would come help connect a new remote, but she never showed. I found the box and HDMI cable unplugged and got one TV going, but we couldn't use the bedroom TV without its remote. The microwave also quit after 30 seconds, so I couldn't warm my son's bottle that night. Our room was by the pool, which was fine until bedtime. At check-in I was told it closed at 10, and there were signs saying that too, but when I called the desk at 10:30 they said 11. They also had no cribs available. I'm usually not one to complain and understand that kids can be loud, but with all these issues, including staff not being helpful and the door not locking right, it was too much. Proceed at your own risk.

The hot tub was packed, with 15 people in it. Our room also had things that were broken, including a hair dryer that didn't work. The checkout woman looked scary and was rude, not friendly at all. The other workers were unfriendly too, and management needs to change. The place needs updates.

Checkout can't come soon enough. On top of the noise and hot tub problems, our room cards had already been deactivated at 8:04 Sunday morning even though checkout wasn't until 11. The checkout woman was incredibly rude, barking, “Can I help you?” For two nights, kids ran up and down the halls making noise. Up to 12 kids were in the hot tub with goggles, balloons, balls, floats, everything, treating it like a swimming pool. Their “parents” were there but busy looking at their phones. I paid for the hot tub as part of my reservation and couldn't enjoy it as an adult. The front desk did nothing about the kids or the noise. A fire alarm went off, and when I asked what happened, the desk woman rudely said someone had been cooking in their room. At 8 Sunday morning I went to use the hot tub and was rudely told it didn't open until 10 because they had to check the chemicals. The pool hours weren't posted anywhere. I was also told the gate should have been locked, but it was broken. How is that my problem? The hotel can police a grown adult at the hot tub, but doesn't enforce its sign saying children under 12 must be with an adult. I paid for an amenity I couldn't use and expect reimbursement and a response from Wingate. One and done for us.

For a solo stay while the water heater in my apartment is being fixed, this works. The price was great, the staff were nice, and it was quiet. They do need to run an ozone machine and air the place out, though. I wouldn't bring a hookup here.
