Fresh coffee and banana bread in the common dining room were a lovely way to start the morning, with a view of the garden. We loved this place, the best stay of our trip so far. It was cozy, clean, safe, and charming, and Steve was so kind. Our room was in the guest house, giving us a private space that felt like our own little apartment. The bed was really comfortable and we slept great. Parking right outside the door made things easy and convenient. We’d love to come back!

Steve was a joy from his morning call to confirm our check-in time through checkout. We’re already looking forward to staying again next year. My husband and I come to this part of Maine every year for an event at Oxbow brewery. Since it takes us 3 hours to get there and the event lasts all day, we like to stay overnight. We’ve tried several airbnbs, b&b's, and inns around the area, but we were talking about coming back to Hawks House as soon as we left. It’s near downtown Damariscotta and only 15 minutes from Oxbow. The rooms were quiet and cozy, and there were plenty of outlets, which is rare in old houses.

A gorgeous garden with lots of outdoor seating and a fire pit, plus a screened porch and a great common area for coffee and gathering. Steve has made a terrific place to stay while visiting Pemaquid, South Bristol, and nearby areas. He’s a welcoming, friendly innkeeper who clearly cares about keeping the place comfortable and clean. Highly recommended!

Steve went out of his way to make sure we had a good time during our three wonderful days with our familiy. He gave us helpful advice on activities and shopping, and even lent a hand with our barbecue in the garden. The garden is beautiful, and the rooms and lobby feel cozy. It’s one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed, and the price was fair. Highly recommended, and thanks to Steve!

Steve is an excellent host, and the morning banana bread was delicious. The inn is peaceful and comfortable, yet conveniently located near lots of attractions. We had a wonderful stay and definitely recommend it.
