The kids had a great time in the rec room playing pool, and we had to go next door to the double tree to use the pool. They didn’t mind. This is one of my favorite Hilton chains. The room layout works well and has a kitchen. I wasn’t too keen on the breakfast choices, but there were basics like bagels, waffles, and cereal. A good place to stay.

The covered parking garage is handy in bad weather, since the car stays dry and clean underneath the building. I stay here quite often and it’s always a pleasure, with no problems. They also put out a very nice complimentary breakfast in the morning.

After a few recent stays at other Hilton properties that left me disappointed, this place was a welcome change. It was clean and well maintained, and the staff were ready to help. We did run into a couple of issues: the digital keys didn’t work, so we had to get key cards at the desk, and one of the two elevators was out during our stay.

Pet owners, be careful. There were serious problems here, from the pet charges to the poisoned mice around the property. The listing said the pet fee was $75 for the first 1-4 nights. I travel a lot and that seems standard at most Hilton brand hotels, but at check-in they told me it was $75 per pet. When I questioned it, they said they could set their own rules because they’re independently owned and don’t have to follow Hilton’s. That explanation didn’t make sense to me, but they said I could speak to a manager in the morning. I walked my dogs around the building that night. There wasn’t much space for pets to do their business, and I had to pull four dead mice that had been poisoned out of my dogs’ mouths. There was poison bait all around the property. I know many places in New England deal with mice at this time of year, but poison needs to be used responsibly and the dead mice need to be cleared away. Otherwise, the hotel shouldn’t advertise as pet friendly. My dog could have died if he’d swallowed one. It happened again the next morning, when I found two more. I took a photo. To her credit, the manager handled our conversation decently the next morning. She acknowledged the pet fee had been advertised incorrectly, refunded me, and told maintenance about the mice. She did such a good job that I hadn’t planned to post this poor review. Then I got home and checked my bank account. After I’d checked out, paid, and left, they charged me another pet fee. I called and was told the manager would be in Wednesday, which wasn’t good enough. I contacted corporate, got a refund, and filed a very negative review there too. I’ve been loyal to Hilton for years, for both personal and business trips. I’ve reached Gold and Diamond status in some years, and I’ve often recommended Hilton hotels. It takes a lot for me to write this. The health and safety risk to pets and the double or excessive charges are serious concerns. I hope they sort this out, because the rooms are actually very nice. I was excited to hear there’d be a Home2 so close to where I visit family.
