Knights Inn Bristol

I liked the price, $48.58 after tax, and the general cleanliness. The room was decent and had a microwave oven and mini-fridge. The motel looked cluttered, though, and felt a bit like staying in someone’s home, which it partly is since the owners live on site. I’d probably come back if I were in the area. RJT

This place serves a purpose if it’s very late, you need a room, and there aren’t really other options. It wasn’t the nicest hotel I’ve stayed at, but it wasn’t the worst either. A room for one night for two people ran about $85 to $90, which is steep for a 2 star hotel in Bristol. There’s no Wi-Fi, pool, suites, or other extras to expect. They charged me a $20 security deposit, refundable at checkout only if you check out exactly at 11 a.m. on the dot. Otherwise, you don’t get the deposit back. I’d treat it as a last-minute option.

There’s a guy who hangs out in the wet wall behind the shower, watching through the vent and the little hole by the shower head. He might be the owners’ rape slave. Watch out for him. The place is quiet, though, and the furniture looks like it belongs in a scary 70's movie. Don’t forget your coupon or they’ll rape you, literally. The lobby smelled like curry and feces. We seemed to be there during a lull in housekeeping, because on the way to our room we passed seven rooms that looked ransacked, with the blinds open. There were also rooms at the back that seemed to serve as some kind of dead animal depository. Maybe that’s where the smell in the lobby came from.

We ended up here randomly at 1 am, despite the negative comments, and for the $46 we paid it was okay. The room was clean, there were no bugs, and the heat was already on, so it was comfortable. The beds are old but comfortable. The woman who checked us in was really nice and polite, and breakfast was okay. For the price, you can’t beat the motel, and I’d stay again. The main trouble was finding it at that hour. The name is now The Budget Inn, not Knights inn.
