Speedway Inn

There are bedbugs, rooms are falling apart, housekeeping does nothing, and the maintenance guy doesn’t fix anything. The woman running the place should hire better employees with good experience to take care of what needs fixing. It needs repairs and more friendly, kid-friendly places.

It’s convenient for Bristol Speedway, and I appreciated being able to get a room. The owner is very kind, but the motel needs some TLC. Most of the lights didn’t work, we had only two outlets, and the toilet struggled badly. The place was very dirty.

My wife and I stayed September 12-13, 2025 for the NASCAR race because this place was fairly close to the track. I understand race weekend affects rates, so I didn’t hesitate to pay $400 per night. But the room was disgusting, and I’m a redneck, so that’s saying something. It wasn’t clean at all. The sofa chair looked about 30 years old, as did the bed and mattress. The tub and toilet hadn’t been scrubbed in months. We moved a small recliner from the wall to sit down, and the dirt and debris underneath made it clear they don’t care about anything but money. We checked in Friday morning, left our things, and went straight to the track. When we got back for showers at 11 at night, there were no towels or wash rags, so I went to the front desk. I never complain and didn’t say anything then, but people should know. I asked the usual price and was told $80, and I understand raising it for race weekend because of supply and demand. Still, at least act like you care. The woman in charge, who I assume was the owner, should be ashamed to rent that room even for $80, let alone $400. The inside safety lock was missing too. It looked like the door had been kicked in and the trim was busted. If she isn’t embarrassed by how disgusting that room was, I don’t think she has any shame. This is an honest review, and I should have taken pictures.

The room was lovely, and for $50 a night I’d honestly live here. It was my first stay. There wasn’t any coffee, but that was okay. It’s close to Food City and a bar that’s closed on Sundays. Very convenient when you’re tired and have been walking for a while.
