Moxy Cincinnati Downtown

The noise meant I didn’t sleep at all. The bar played loud music past quiet hours, and I could hear the neighboring rooms as if they were part of mine. They said they couldn’t move me to a quieter room because they were apparently full, though they haven’t been fully occupied since opening. I stayed because it was near the office I was visiting, but this was the worst place I can remember from my regular work travel. The room was cramped and unclean, the staff seemed incompetent and uninterested, and the breakfast food was so bad I only managed a couple bites. Getting an itemized bill for my full stay has taken five calls, half an hour on the phone, and two emails to support, and I still don’t have it. It’s remarkable how many people can mishandle a simple request. I’m still waiting for a manager to call. At least my company paid.

The bed was extremely comfortable, and the place was super clean. I loved the modern, chic decor, with a young, fun feel. Staff were extremely friendly, and there’s a free drink at check-in plus complimentary coffee in the morning. Breakfast at the atrium next door was absolutely delicious. The shower has electronic controls with a bunch of fun settings, and the hotel is close to restaurants. I hardly give hotels five stars, but this one deserves it.

I like stopping by the Moxy to relax with a drink or get some remote work done. The whole concept works, and the vibe is spot on. Lawrence at the bar deserves a shoutout: he brings incredible energy, welcomes everyone from day one, and is one of the best bartenders I’ve come across. The Happy Hour taco deal is a must. Management has built a great team, and that comes through in every interaction I’ve seen since the grand opening. Highly recommend!

The gym and meeting areas were nice, and the rooftop bar has an exceptional view. The rooms are very new and clean, though tiny in that very Euro way, which isn’t really my speed. Fine if that’s the experience you’re after. IYKYK.
