Broadus Motel

After a ten-hour drive, at least it gave us somewhere to sleep. I’ve stayed in worse, so I can’t call it a one-star stay, but this was pretty bad. There were dead bugs all over the room, and I couldn’t get the weak WiFi to connect. The TV had no channels, the toilet wouldn’t flush all the way, and there was a hole in the wall that looked like someone had punched it.

I walked into the main office while my family and I were traveling from Ohio to Montana. We hadn’t realized how far apart everything is, so we stopped to ask about a room. The office smelled strongly of musty cat urine. I didn’t rent a room or even look at one, because that first impression was enough for me. It’s cheap, I guess you get what you pay for. The owner called this a fake review, but it isn’t. I went into the office and smelled it. I was clear that I didn’t stay there and that my review was based on the smell and my first impression. First impressions matter. The owner may not notice the odor after living and working around it, but the rest of us can smell it. I don’t know why the owner went on a rant over one bad review. Take it in stride and do better. I don’t know the owner or the hotel, and I have nothing personal against them. The location was just trash. I leave reviews to tell people what to expect, not to make things up. Do the people who’ve also complained about the smell count as liars too? Just curious. 🧐 Here’s my face, since you think I’m scared to show it.

We loved the ranch, especially seeing the river and their horse, and taking late-night walks under all the stars. The owners were lovely hosts, and the cabin was a great place to stay. It had a full kitchen, plus a fridge and freezer for our food, and a washer and dryer so we could do laundry. The beds were clean and comfortable, and we liked the large bathroom and great shower. We had a wonderful stay at the Broadus Guest House!

The room was okay, but it wasn’t clean, and there were cobwebs. I don’t think breakfast was available, and the clerk might have been on something. Still, the place has a vintage feel, with pink tile in the bathroom and all. With a good cleaning and breakfast, it could be an okay place.
