Breakfast was the main reason I booked, along with the hotel’s closeness to the tournament. It was the worst hotel breakfast I’ve had: hardly any choice, and much of it, especially the eggs, looked unappetizing. We ended up getting breakfast across the street. I’d called before arriving to ask about microwaves and was told every room had one, but my mom’s room didn’t. The rooms weren’t very clean, either, and there was an iron without an ironing board, so I had to find another way to press my clothes. We were there for my brother’s AAU basketball tournament the weekend of June 5 and had booked two rooms. From the start, the receptionist was disrespectful and made our first visit feel unwelcoming. Every guest should be welcomed, whatever time they arrive, especially on a first visit. This was our first and only stay at the Garner Hotel in Brockton. My family had a bad experience, and I’d tell others to think twice before booking.

Kids were running around making a lot of noise, and the staff kept knocking on my door and disturbing me and my guest. When I stepped out to my car, my room card had been deactivated. I was charged twice for the deposit, and the manager was rude when I asked to speak with him. At checkout, the clerk refused to give me my receipts. The cleaners also go into your room as soon as you step out and search through it. Honestly, this place isn’t worth spending money on. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I’ve been staying here whenever I’m in town for years, and the staff, from the desk to the service team, are always helpful. Last Monday at 3:30 am, I couldn’t get the driving app to work. I’m in my 70s, and the young man at the desk got the voice directions set up for Logan airport and the rental return without hesitation. Then I was on my way back to Ca.

We stopped here on the way to Boston. There’s lots of parking, and it’s in a quiet area. The building is older but has had some updates. The staff were friendly, breakfast was good, and we really liked the caricatures and historic photos in the lobby and the hallway leading to the rooms.

The business center computer and printer never worked, even though I was told every day they’d be fixed. Breakfast, which was complimentary, got much worse, while I continued paying the full nightly rate through those disruptions. I felt singled out because of how I looked and my temporary housing situation, though I was working every day and caused no disturbances. I stayed nearly a month, paid the full price each night, followed the hotel rules, and had no problems at this location. No one warned me or spoke to me about any concerns. After being told I had to leave briefly under a 21-day policy and could come back, I made a new reservation. When I arrived, they refused to check me in and said I was on a “no rent” list because of something at another hotel nearly a month earlier. It was a brief attempt to help someone charge a phone, which escalated even though I repeatedly tried to get them to leave. That wasn’t a pattern of behavior during my otherwise issue-free stays over several months. I’d booked rooms every few days for more than three weeks, and no one at this location had told me about the decision. Finding out only when I arrived, after being told I could return, was extremely disruptive. The lack of clear communication, fair and consistent policy enforcement, and the sudden refusal of service after weeks of paid stays was deeply disappointing. Management should improve communication, fairness, and accountability, especially for long-term guests who rely on stable accommodations.
