Americas Best Value Inn Brookhaven

The pool was filthy, with trash, cigarette butts, and diapers scattered around, so after my sister arrived we found another hotel for the rest of my stay. The continental breakfast was a joke, and on the second day I had more trouble with the A/C and fridge, which maintenance never fixed. The young woman on the morning staff was rude and didn't seem interested in helping. Check-in on July 16, 2025, at 4:30 pm had started well, though. The receptionist was kind and thoughtful. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you like being mistreated.

Restaurants are within walking distance, and the front desk staff were nice. The rooms are comfortable and quiet.

I decided to give it another try because Holiday Inn Express was charging Vegas weekend rates on a Tuesday. The room was even worse this time: the floor seemed like it hadn't been mopped in months, though I only noticed once I walked barefoot. The clerk's attitude was unpleasant, and they made me feel like they didn't need my business. I first stayed at this Brookhaven, MS, place before and found a hairball in the mattress, which made me stop going there because it felt nasty.

It was quiet, and I would have rated the stay four stars if not for a couple of issues. The creamer packets I used for coffee were very old. I had late checkout, but they called my room at 10:30 to ask if I was staying another night, even though regular checkout is at 11. She said I hadn't looked at that.
