Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Brookhaven by IHG

The hotel and room were very nice, especially the bed, and I'd have no problem staying again. I just dread checking in if that particular front desk woman is working. She was extremely rude, and her little children were playing behind the desk with little control over their behavior. The canopy lights were out when I arrived, making it look as if the hotel had closed. When I asked about them, she said she hadn't noticed and would turn them on, but an hour later, when I went down to check the pantry snacks, they were still off. Hotels are in the hospitality business, and she was everything but hospitable. If they won't fire her, they should at least retrain her. As a Diamond Elite member, I spend a lot of time and money with IHG properties, and I try to share feedback when a hotel is exceptionally good or bad.

Tamya made my stay feel easy and stress-free. She was professional, welcoming, and genuinely kind from the moment we interacted. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. Special recognition and thank you to her.

This was quite possibly southern hospitality at every level. The manager, a gentleman, deserves a shout out, as do the continental breakfast crew, Cicely, who was such a friendly face, and TaWanda, a gracious and very helpful attendant. I actually looked forward to breakfast. Cheers.

The rooms are clean, and Anita, who handles breakfast, should be training the other HI Express breakfast staff. Her biscuits are the best. Check-in wasn't the greatest, and the front end staff could use some training.
