Longwood Inn

The location is perfect, right in the heart of Brookline. Parking is very convenient, with a reasonable extra fee of $25. My room was sparkling clean, and the bathroom was new, spacious, and clean.

Getting the key after hours was very easy, and the instructions made check-in stress-free. Longwood Inn was clean and adorable, a charming old Victorian with lots of character. Everything seemed cared for and cozy, and the location was great. A really pleasant stay. I'd happily come back and recommend it.

The room smelled strongly of urine as soon as we arrived, so I called the front desk right away. They said housekeeping would come. When they got there, they focused on unrelated things, like a few chip crumbs on the bed and a small blanket stain, instead of dealing with the urine smell. Then they started throwing things around and behaving very unprofessionally. The General Manager made things even worse. She was loud, rude, and dismissed our concerns. We were told there'd be no refund even though the room was clearly unacceptable. Rather than listen or help, she yelled at us and stormed out. She also accused us of smoking because a puff bar was charging on the table. We weren't smoking, but she jumped to conclusions. This was one of the worst hotel stays I've had. We spent over $200, and it wasn't worth it. If you care about cleanliness, professionalism, or basic respect, don't stay here. Spend your money somewhere else.

The walls are thin, so we could hear a lot from the halls. Google said parking was free, but there was a $25 charge. It wasn't a big fee, I was just confused. The old fashioned atmosphere mixed with modern touches was lovely. The beds were clean and comfortable, and even though it was brutally cold outside, our room stayed cozy. All in all, a great stay 😃.
