The front desk employee I saw was extremely friendly, and the beds were comfortable, though there wasn’t much linen. Beyond that, amenities are scarce if you’re trying to keep costs down. The pool and hot tub are closed, and the grab-and-go breakfast is basic: coffee, bottled water, a packaged blueberry muffin, a granola bar, and an apple from 6 to 9 a.m. Some room doors say the rooms aren’t habitable during remodeling. I also heard that refrigerators and microwaves may or may not be in the rooms. The lobby lights are often off or only turned on at certain times, the breakfast area has missing ceiling tiles, and there are no luggage carts, so they offer laundry carts instead.

For the price, I’d stay here again. The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the other guests kept things quiet. The vending machines had a good range of choices, which came in handy.

We just wanted to get out of there the next morning. The room smelled intensely of mildew, and running the fan and AC for hours made no difference. The curtains looked moldy, and there seemed to be water damage inside the drawers. There were little flying bugs, a shredded office chair, and no TV remote. One bed had no fitted sheet; the other had someone else’s hair in it. Only one bulb worked in one of the two lamps, and we had just one small towel for the two of us. The hallway smelled odd too, though the entryway was clean and the location felt safe. It was also very dark inside unless more lights were switched on. At 8:45 the next morning, there was no breakfast out, despite the advertised 6:45 to 9:30 hours, and it didn’t look like any had been served. We weren’t planning to eat there after seeing the room. The pool was drained and closed as well. On our way out, we noticed a huge amount of garbage scattered over the lawn between the building and the parking lot. You get what you pay for, I guess, but this was a lot. It was really filthy. We didn’t photograph everything because we wanted to leave before the mildew made us sick or something. I’ve found a lot of reviews describing the same things, and neither Wyndham nor the management here has really responded to them. Great.

We were here for three days, and the convenient location was the one real plus: it’s near Mall of America, IKEA, Maple Grove, Trader Joe's, and Fridley. The stay itself was nowhere near what the website led us to expect. Breakfast was listed as included, but none was served. The pool was closed for “sanitation, construction, and other issues,” which we hadn’t been told about beforehand. Our room smelled strongly, wasn’t cleaned well, and had no towels when we arrived. The cabinets were dusty and several amenities were broken. Noise carried through the rooms, and telling staff and the front desk didn’t lead to any action. We also found the staff generally unapproachable and unhelpful. They took a $100 deposit, and we’re still waiting for it to be returned. We won’t be coming back.

I’ve stayed at plenty of Wyndham hotels, so I couldn’t believe this one was associated with the brand. The warning signs started at the entrance, where the fire panel kept beeping nonstop. Then my first assigned room was filthy and had no towels. When I asked, the front desk handed me two towels stained with what looked like Kool-Aid or punch. I said to forget it, and they moved me to what they called the presidential suite. It felt more like a peasant suite and was absolutely nasty. I just needed some rest before getting back on the highway, so I bought my own towels, soap, and disinfectant, then cleaned what I could myself. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Don’t try to save a buck here, spend the money and avoid it.
