Omni Interlocken

A fun restaurant and a cute little store. Sylvia, who works at the store, was super helpful. The bathroom wallpaper is adorable, too. It’s a convenient spot between Boulder and Denver, and I’d strongly recommend staying here. There’s a pool, though I haven’t seen it, and the golf course looks nice.

The service was a highlight. The staff worked well together and made it feel like guests weren’t an inconvenience. They were among the best we’ve had. We took a long weekend with an AMEX deal to catch a game and get away. Our room on the 7th floor had a nice view, though the wind was noisy in the mornings. Good shower pressure and very hot water, too. We didn’t use the heated pools since it was early spring, and I’m not a golfer, though the course looked nice. We had breakfast at the Camper, which was really good, with big portions and good prices. At Shep’s we got a pizza and salad. The cauliflower-crust pizza was passable, though that’s not their specialty. We ran out of time to try other dishes. A great weekend, and I’ll look for Omni again.

The breakfast alone could bring me back: the flavors, presentation, and service were wonderful. I had avocado sourdough and cinnamon rolls, and even the fruit was fresh and delicious. My mom and I stayed at Omni while celebrating my sister’s graduation from Boulder, and choosing this hotel was the best decision we made all weekend. It’s about 15 minutes from the University, stunning inside, very clean, and beautifully designed. The rooms were gorgeous and thoughtfully equipped, though I’d suggest adding toothpaste to the shop. We booked with our Amex Plat and enjoyed breakfast both days. We also used a credit at the retail store, which had a great selection and saved us a bookstore trip for swag. The mountain view is worth splurging for. I’m sure my husband would have enjoyed the golf if we’d had more time. There are nice places to walk nearby. One of the best, and it lives up to its reputation.

We stayed three nights with family and were told we’d booked the most superior room, but its bathroom was cramped and small. The lobby remodel looked nice, and we spent some time by the pool, though poolside service no longer seems to be available. At check-in, I mentioned we might need an extra hour or two on checkout day, since our rate included a guaranteed late checkout. That day, the front desk firmly refused, saying the manager had said no. The manager didn’t come out to explain. Breakfast took much longer than on other days, so we rushed to pack. We also ordered a takeout pizza from the restaurant for our teenagers one night while my wife and I went on a date. No one mentioned over the phone or at pickup that they automatically add 20% to pickup orders. We tip well even for pickup, so adding it without telling us felt entitled. It’s not about the money, but the attitude (April 25th). We’ll splurge somewhere else on our next quick trip from the mountains. Other Omnis are far superior.
