The architecture and public areas are interesting, and at least the bed was comfortable with what seemed like new pillows. But the rooms feel stuck around 1960. No TV, fridge, microwave, or coffee maker, then a $6 latte stand and a $22 breakfast buffet. I’ve stayed in Super8s that were three times nicer for a third of the price. The building looks neglected, entry doors swing in the wind, and there’s no security. A bag of dirty laundry was leaning on an electric heater, which seemed like a fire risk. I half expected a bear in the hallway, and definitely didn’t expect to find a bat roosting outside my door. This place is a trip, but the cost is absurd for what you get. Come look at the architecture and have a drink, then eat and sleep somewhere else. They seem to be pushing guests toward their expensive food and drinks. After my review, Keegan posted another empty copy-and-paste promise that things will improve. Nothing will change. A refund for this miserable stay is the only remedy. Save the promises about making Glacier Park Lodge great again.

The gardens and setting were lovely, and the lodge itself is beautiful. We had a great stay last week. Our room was clean and comfortable, including the bed, though the bathroom was cramped, which we expected in an older lodge. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the food. The train station is within walking distance. We’d happily stay again.

The front desk staff were very kind, and the property looks beautiful, but our stay was one of my worst hotel experiences. We paid almost $500 for one night and barely slept. Guests on both sides of us were so audible that we could make out their conversations. Both rooms started talking and using their phones loudly at 5 a.m., and I could even hear the person next door using the bathroom several times. I knew this was a historic hotel without modern amenities, so no AC or elevator wasn’t a surprise. The condition of the room was still awful: the bathroom was tiny, extremely dated, and not clean. There’s hardly a nearby town where you can get a decent meal, either. We shouldn’t have spent so much money here for such a bad night’s sleep.

There’s a nearby place with small cabins for about $180 a night. That would have been a much better choice, and now we know for next year. We shouldn’t have spent almost $500 here for a terrible night’s sleep. Food options nearby are scarce, so you’re basically stuck with the expensive restaurants or coffee shop. The property itself is beautiful, but this feels like a wannabe lodge. At least learn to clean. There was feces all over the bathroom wall and door. The bathroom was tiny, very dated, and dirty, and the room’s outlets mostly didn’t work. I knew there’d be no AC or elevator in a historic place, but that doesn’t excuse the state of the room. We could hear detailed conversations through both adjoining walls. The guests on both sides woke at 5 a.m. and talked and used their phones loudly. I could even hear someone next door use the bathroom multiple times. It was impossible to sleep. The entry doors swing open in the wind, and I worried wildlife might get inside. I later saw a review with photos of a bat outside someone’s room. The front desk staff were very kind at check-in, but quite rude in the morning. The place is beautiful, but the price isn’t worth it. I emailed the details too, including the feces, and got no reply. The least they could have done was apologize or offer a partial refund. After they replied to my review, staff emailed me and asked me for the third time to explain what I had already written in the review and my earlier feedback email. I told them repeating it again was wasting both our time. They haven’t responded in several weeks, which makes it seem they don’t really care about making things right. Their response here felt like a performance for other readers. Stay at the nicer, cheaper places down the road instead.

The golf house worked out really well for exploring Glacier’s east side, especially with other places already booked. We drove to Many Glacier and St Mary’s several times, about an hour each way. It seems like a good fit for families. It’s a modular home with some additions and limited updating, but it was clean and comfortable for our needs. There are two bedrooms, each with two double beds, and each has an attached bathroom. There’s also a full kitchen, living room, and a large deck. No AC, though they had plenty of fans. It’s near hiking paths and right on a golf course that was busier than I expected. The house is about a four-minute drive north of the lodge, in a residential area. It’s walkable, but you’ll probably drive over. The east side of the park is very rural. There’s a basic camp supply store, some restaurants, and food trucks, but check their hours. The lodge restaurants have limited menus and are pricey, though the food was good. I booked through the lodge with limited information and was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations.
