Storey Lake-4 Bedroom Townhome W/splashpool-1611st 4 Townhouse

We stayed at Story Lake in Kissimmee, Florida in November 2025 for what was meant to be our children's first Disney vacation. Instead, our family went through one of the most violating experiences of our lives. Afterward, we learned that the previous renters had also been robbed just days before we arrived, but no one warned us. The AC units weren't working on our first day, so maintenance workers entered the home. A few days later the washing machine broke and more workers came in. Every night we made sure all the doors, especially the back slider, were locked. As far as we knew, the house was secure. Even so, someone broke in while we were sleeping. My parents and in-laws were downstairs only feet from where belongings were taken, and my children were upstairs with me. My $1,000 camera was among the stolen things. It held irreplaceable photos and videos from my son's first Disney trip, and those memories are gone forever. The Airbnb host showed no accountability, urgency, or compassion afterward. There was no real apology, offer of help, concern for our safety, or attempt to make it right. We were simply told to “enjoy the rest of your stay.” After our family had just been violated in the middle of the night, that response was awful. Nearly six months later, we still have no answers or stolen belongings, and those memories can't be recreated. Given the repeated incidents at this property and development, and how the situation was handled, our family is strongly left with the impression that it may have been an inside job. The online photos look beautiful, but families deserve to know what happened before booking. No rental is worth risking your family's safety, peace of mind, or memories. I'd strongly urge families traveling with children to think carefully before staying here.

The place was clean and comfortable, and we had room for the whole family to spread out. The beds were good, and the pool was clean and lovely. We also had a well-stocked kitchen with dishes, utensils, appliances, and even a blender I hadn't expected. We booked through booking.com, and parking was right out front. My husband and I could picture owning a townhouse like this when we're older and spending winters here. One thing seemed a little sus, though: a door had a sign warning that opening it would mean an extra $100 charge.

We love the pool, the location, and the condos, so it's a bummer that this year's stay had so many service problems. Phone service barely worked around the resort, and the WiFi in our condo and many other cheer families' condos was unusable the whole time. Our devices showed a strong signal and said they were connected, but nothing worked. It made it really hard to keep up with cheer competition results and updates. We've stayed here the past couple years for cheer without any trouble, but unless this gets fixed, I don't think we'll come back in the upcoming years.

The place itself is beautiful, with excellent accommodations and easy access to lots of attractions. We were glad we stayed. The main drawback is the single pool area, which feels far too small for the number of residents, and there's not much parking for it either. Unless you get there really early to claim a spot, good luck finding a pool chair. Maybe they'll add another pool area someday. We're used to the multiple pool options and lighter crowds at one of the Sheraton Vistana resorts. If the pool doesn't matter to you, don't hesitate to stay here.
