Motel 6 Brownsville North #4625

I paid $118 for two queen beds, but they felt like mats. The room, 228, looked like someone had died there, and the toilet wouldn’t flush. Awful room. Don’t stay here, it’s falsely advertised.

The only real plus was having places to eat nearby. I wasn’t impressed with the cleaning, and the room had space for a refrigerator but no fridge. The pillows were so flat that folding them didn’t help. We’d reserved a queen bed, and the attendant said it was a queen, but when we got there it was a full. That’s a big difference for two adults sharing it. Motel 6 down the road is a much better choice.

After a six-hour drive from Houston, I just wanted it to be morning so we could leave this nasty, musty place. The motel is very outdated, and I wasn’t expecting a five-star stay, but this was not okay. A few hairs were on the shower wall, little strange bugs crawled across the bathroom floor, and the shower handle was hard to open. The curtain didn’t cover the whole tub, so water dripped onto the floor. I felt the place was filthy and wasn’t comfortable sleeping there. I don’t recommend it. Management should take these reviews seriously and do a better job.

The water only got lukewarm, it smelled bad, and there were bugs. The room was dirty and musty, with mold on the walls and cigarette burns in the sheets and bedspread. No microwave or mini fridge, and the mattresses and pillows were awful. This place is badly run down and not maintained. The owner should stay here with their family and see how that goes. Absolutely don’t stay here. It needs to be condemned. The 1980s retro decor isn’t even the main problem. I can’t believe the Motel 6 franchise lets this place use its name.
