Texas Inn Brownsville by Hotel O

The hotel was empty, so we asked if my family and I could be placed away from other guests. They put us next to a young couple having sex all night. I was there with my 11-year-old daughter, who has Down syndrome, and asked to switch rooms, but the hotel refused. The staff were rude and didn’t respect us. Don’t stay here just to save a few bucks. Put your family somewhere they’ll be treated decently.

The floor was sticky and dirty, and the sheets were still wet. There was nowhere to hang anything, so forget steaming clothes. The pillows were extremely thin and awful. The bathroom door wouldn’t close properly, leaving about an inch of space. They’d used so much Fabuloso on the floor that we were all sneezing. Hopefully this helps someone avoid a miserable night.

I could sleep through the night because the room blocked out the bar’s music next door and the highway noise. The pillows were dingy and the mattresses uneven, though. I also found one tiny dead roach, and the toilet paper in the bathroom had what looked like a salsa stain. I swapped it for a clean roll.

The room itself was okay, but the service was poor. I’d booked online and waited 20 minutes to check in because nobody was at the office booth. I kept knocking, and the guy eventually appeared from the back looking annoyed. I wouldn’t recommend it. This place was great about 20 years ago, but not now.
