It started with loud construction noise that we couldn’t ignore. Then my room key stopped working, and I ended up sleeping in my car while all my belongings stayed in the room. No one could make a new key until 9 a.m., so from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. there was nobody to help. When I told the front desk lady what happened, she gave me a hard time and kept saying my phone and key must have touched. She showed no empathy. It felt like they didn’t want customers to come back. I still want to speak to a manager, but one is never available.

The staff were very nice, and I appreciated the dry cereal and orange juice at the basic continental breakfast. But at $350 a night, it felt nowhere near worth the price. The pool, restaurant, and bar were closed until further notice, with no warning about renovations, which made for a rough trip with kids who’d been promised a pool. I’d look elsewhere if traveling with children. The lobby smelled strongly from a fireplace gas leak while we were visiting family. Staff said it had already been checked, but I wished they’d just shut the gas off. The lobby AC wasn’t working either, and we were overheated. Our room smelled dank, so we looked around and found black mold on the veranda. Neighbors said they had black mold on their porch too. There was leftover food on the counter, only shower gel and conditioner, and no shampoo. All the hand sanitizer kiosks around the property were empty, and the King suites didn’t have clocks, which was stressful.

I booked rooms for myself and my wedding guests, and the whole experience was a 10/10. The staff were amazing, especially Asthanasia, if I’m remembering that right, and Nick. They were friendly and accommodating, and Nick was quick to reply to my emails. He even came in on a day off to make sure everything was set. My mom’s room smelled like smoke, but when we asked to switch, she got an upgraded room with a balcony. The wedding party could check in two hours early for free, and they helped move a family member to a handicap room. We also rented a meeting room for hair and makeup. Nick and the staff decorated it really nicely, and it was spacious and perfect for the eight of us and the artists. My suite was really nice too.

The pool was empty, the hotel was warm throughout, and the AC couldn’t keep up. The lobby looked very nice, but the hallways seemed older. I spent over a week there and never saw a housekeeper, so I had to find towels myself. Water pressure was terrible, and without a bathroom fan the floor got slippery. It’s not in the best area, and if smells bother you, avoid this place. The staff were friendly and professional, though, and the continental breakfast was pretty good. In my opinion, it wasn’t worth the price.
