The steak frites at the restaurant were delicious, tender, smoky, and cooked just right at medium rare. The one letdown was that they were out of several ingredients, so our waitress had to keep explaining substitutions and what wasn’t available. Otherwise, this small hotel feels cozy and modern, almost like a little resort where you could spend a few days relaxing. There are lounges with magazines and puzzles, the rooms are nice, and the atmosphere is comfortable. It’s affordable, under $150 a night, but didn’t feel cheap or run-down. I’d thought the Brunswick Hotel was just some random roadside motel, so I was pleasantly surprised. If you’re in Brunswick, it’s a nice little experience that made me appreciate the small things.

We walked everywhere, even in February, because the hotel sits right by campus and at the edge of Main Street Brunswick. It’s perfectly placed for Bowdoin and downtown Brunswick. The beds were comfortable, the room was nicely decorated and immaculate, and the whole independent hotel is very well kept. Breakfast at the restaurant was delicious.

The room was spotless and cozy, and the bed was so comfortable that we accidentally slept in. After a long drive, we had dinner at the hotel restaurant and really enjoyed it. The place is stunning, and the fresh, welcoming smell hit us as soon as we walked in. The only minor snag was figuring out the TV, but we were happy just to relax in that great bed. Definitely a hotel worth staying at.

We were still two hours from where we were headed when the roads turned awful in a snowstorm on Christmas Eve Eve. It was 1 a.m., and I panicked and searched for nearby pet-friendly hotels. The Brunswick Hotel was only 15 minutes away and reasonably priced. We were so grateful to the kind staff who welcomed us and our two little hellions in the middle of that storm. The room was amazing, too. A 10/10 stay, and I’d get stranded there again.

The rooms are spacious, with lovely bathrooms and excellent water pressure. I also loved the soft beds, linens from local Maine brands, and the great-smelling Brooklyn brand shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. It’s a small hotel with a limited number of rooms, and it’s clean and welcoming. I travel for work and stay at a lot of hotels, but rarely write reviews unless a place is really bad. This one checked every box for me. I love the location and will be back.
