The good parts first: I slept really well because the bed was so comfortable, and woke up feeling refreshed. The room was clean and comfortable. I didn’t mind hearing the kids laughing and playing as they ran up and down the hall all night. There’s also a big parking lot where all kinds of vehicles, even 18 wheelers, can park comfortably. My main issue was the service from one man working there. I didn’t get his name, but he is indian. He was courteous and spoke well to guests when the manager was around, but without management there he was rude. When I asked questions, he didn’t carry on a conversation that led to answers and showed no customer service skills. I believe he can do better, but he seems like the sort of employee who needs to be micromanaged to treat guests respectfully. Some employees do the right thing whether or not the boss is watching. I also called the number listed here and spoke with a female who tried to sell me a two queen bed room for more than $90, saying it was the last room. When I said I’d call back, she quickly insisted I should book it then. I didn’t. I booked through a third party for much less and got a king bed. When I arrived, four other people with me had also booked four rooms, so the claim that there was only one room left seemed like a lie to gain an advantage. I’ve worked in customer service for over 20 years, and this place has a lot of potential to bring in new guests and keep them. But that depends on making people feel welcome from their first contact. How guests are treated at the start can determine whether they come back. Customer service courses could be a positive step for some employees. I wish you luck, and maybe our service crew will visit again one day.
