Baymont by Wyndham Budd Lake

The room was huge and spotless, and the building smelled really clean when we came in. We got a king suite for just $80, which was the best hotel deal I’ve ever had. It looks like they may have remodeled recently, since everything felt up to date. I don’t get all the negative reviews. It was a great stay for the price, and I’d gladly recommend it. I’m bookmarking the place for the next time I’m in the area.

The rooms are a decent size, and the place is close to major highways and stores. It’s okay if you only need somewhere for one night. But cleaning was poor. The toilet sides were really dirty, the shower curtain and bathroom had mold, and it didn’t seem like they cleaned thoroughly. At night, I counted 11 rats around the dumpster while watching from my vehicle. The front desk woman had a very nasty attitude, and the manager, who I was told is the owner, seemed money hungry and like he takes advantage of people. Getting in and out of the parking lot was also a pain. Breakfast was limited and not very good, and they didn’t make much of it.

The rooms were okay, but I wouldn’t stay here with toddlers and wouldn’t recommend the place. The fragrance was so strong I could taste it, which made me wonder what they were trying to hide. The guy at the desk seemed bothered to deal with us and was far from friendly. It also seemed like the owners live there, and you can tell.

The staff were really pleasant, and I found the hotel comfortable and reasonably priced. It’s close to Route 80. I’ll definitely stay there again.
