Alamo Inn

There was a gap of about two inches under the door where I could see daylight. I stuffed a towel there, but it still left me feeling uneasy about safety.

The breakfast turned out to be much better than I expected, and the shower had really strong pressure. Our room was clean and came with a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. Booking through booking.com went smoothly, too.

The staff were warm when we checked in, and the room was clean, though a bit dark and dingy. For what we paid, it worked fine as a one-night break on our long drive to Yellowstone. Nothing fancy. Sleep was the problem. A couple of loud groups were around, and the rooms barely kept sound out. At 6am we were woken by what sounded like loud knocking at our door. It turned out to be a neighbor or someone upstairs, since we soon heard the exchange between the person knocking and another resident. It happened again at 6:30am, then we could hear motorbikes leaving outside our door. If you want to sleep later, try to get a room farther from the parking lot.

The staff were friendly and let me check out late. They also kept my bicycle for me until my ride arrived, which I appreciated. Breakfast was free, ready at 6:30am, and better than I expected. The Alamo Inn felt clean and safe, and the price was fair after a full day in the car or on a motorcycle. Restaurants and shops are a few blocks away in the main part of town. I was very happy with my stay.
