Hilton Garden Inn Buffalo Downtown

The location is perfect, and the staff are friendly and quick to handle anything you need. The gym and clean pool were both great, with new equipment in the gym. Those parts get 5 stars from me. What brought the rating down by 2 stars was the aging furniture, no hot coffee after 10am, and a poorly stocked market corner. The biggest problem was the very weak shower pressure. I didn’t raise it with the front desk, even though I’m sure they would’ve helped, because my stay was short and I didn’t want to wait for maintenance or switch rooms. Management is doing a poor job. The staff are what keep this from feeling like a roadside hotel with a fancy brand.

When my flight was cancelled, I couldn’t have landed in a better spot. The service went above and beyond, and the location was great. The amenities were top-notch, with plenty of workout equipment and a great pool. The in-house restaurant was amazing and well staffed.

I was there for one night, then drove home for an hour and a half. My AirPods still showed up at the hotel on Find My iPhone, so I called and drove all the way back to look, but couldn’t find them. After another hour and a half back home, I saw their location move to a house. I called the non-emergency police line with the address. They confirmed the person worked in the hotel’s housekeeping and were able to get my AirPods back. The stay would’ve been 5 stars if housekeeping hadn’t stolen them.

I liked the place apart from a few problems. One of the two rooms I was assigned smelled a bit like mold, though the rooms were otherwise clean. There was also no water one morning, but the hotel gave us free breakfast in the lobby. During the day, the cleaning staff had a huge fight that was pretty disturbing while I was trying to work. The front desk staff were friendly.
