Motel 6 Bullhead City, AZ

We’ve stayed here a few times, and the staff and room prices have been great every visit. The rooms are spacious, too. For the best view, I’d go for the second or third floor: the Colorado River side is nice, but the mountain side is unreal at sunrise. A+ all around.

We picked this spot for a mini vacation with our dog, and the big rooms made that easy. The Circle K is right across the street, and casinos, grocery stores, and restaurants are nearby. The price was great, and having a fridge and a microwave helped us save money by getting groceries for meals. The microwave worked really well. I’ve usually stayed at Motel 6 when traveling, and this one wasn’t one of the good ones, though it did give us a place to rest. I might try another hotel next time, but depending on the price, I could still come back. I’m also still waiting for the discount they promised for the inconvenience. We were there over Super Bowl weekend, and there was no TV or Wi-Fi the whole time. The woman at check-in didn’t tell me. In the first room, the bed bugs showed up during a steam test, the mattress had blood stains, and the room smelled like urine. The bathroom sink had a small clog, and I couldn’t figure out why the water wasn’t draining well. The laundry detergent they use makes me itch, so I couldn’t use the comforter. I couldn’t even call the front desk from the first room. I called on my own phone and no one answered, so I went to the office. The man there told us about the TV and Wi-Fi and helped us switch rooms. The next room was okay. It wasn’t the best experience, or the worst, just okay.

I booked at the last minute with my dogs because Tropicana didn’t allow pets. The rate was fair, and the dogs stayed free. Other places wanted a $200 pet deposit plus a charge for each dog. I’d stay here again if I were in a pinch.

I’ve never had a worse hotel stay. The beds were uncomfortable, the outlets were glued, and room service was at least responsive. The AC didn’t work, which is rough in Arizona, and the shower was confusing, though it did work. The place had no soundproofing, right by a bar and a busy street, and the location was horrible. It cost as much as the casinos across the street.
