Residence Inn by Marriott Los Angeles Burbank Downtown

I've returned for different reasons several times, and every stay has been enjoyable. The rooms are spacious, service is friendly and efficient, and there are many restaurants within walking distance. Although it's close to the freeway, you can hardly hear it. The complimentary breakfast has lots of options and is really good. A shout-out to the front desk team, too.

The employees were great, and checkout was pleasant. We stayed Nov 18 - Nov 20 for our son's Universal Studios birthday trip and were upgraded to an accessible two-bedroom suite, which had plenty of space for two adults and a preteen. My bedroom had a low king bed because it was accessible, and the sink and bathroom area had lots of room. The doorways were wide. Each bedroom had its own bathroom; the second bedroom had a comfy queen bed, a large desk, and a bathtub. That bathroom's shower had low water pressure, so we didn't use it. There were three televisions, one in each bedroom and one in the living room, with about 20 channels including Nickelodeon, news, and MTV, plus YouTube and Netflix sign-in. Wi-Fi worked great. Netflix loaded a little slowly but was fine once it opened. The TVs sat on large dressers, and both bedrooms had decent closets. We kept our things in our bags, so we didn't use the storage. The kitchen was a plus, with a full-size refrigerator and an ice maker that needed to be switched on. Once we did, it made ice quickly. There were cabinets with dinnerware, plus a stovetop, sink, microwave, and dishwasher. We ate out and didn't use the dishes, but the hotel supplied a scrubber and a little dish soap. Water bottles in the room cost $6, so we drank our own. Elite members got one small bottle each as a courtesy at check-in. The dining table between the kitchen and living room had four chairs. The living room sofa bed was, like most sofa beds, not very comfortable, but extra blankets helped. Bedding on all the beds, including the sofa bed, was soft and fluffy. Everything seemed clean and dust-free. Half the family went to Universal Studios while I stayed back to relax. The AC got cold but was a little loud. Some people may like its white noise for sleeping. We kept it at 73/74 degrees, though we had to turn up the TV while it was running. I occasionally heard what I think was the generator closet, and water from a neighboring sink, but neither sound was constant or a problem. We were on the second floor near the top of the lobby stairs, convenient since I don't care for elevators. The lobby was quaint and clean, with very high ceilings and a beautiful chandelier. The hotel was quiet during our visit. Breakfast was complimentary, like at most Marriotts, and was a full meal: muffins, packaged hard-boiled eggs, fresh scrambled eggs, cereal, milk, fruit, oatmeal, hot cocoa, and waffles to make yourself. I didn't see stains on the carpet or floors. A few wall tiles in the larger shower were dinged, but only slightly and it wasn't an issue. The hotel is about 20 minutes from Universal Studios, with a quick hop onto the nearby freeway. I heard a few cars and the city bus during the day, but the sounds weren't loud or constant. Sheer curtains with a heavier second set made the room dark at night and dim enough for naps or movies in the daytime. I didn't hear other guests running around or speaking loudly. I'm planning to come back for my birthday in Jan!

In November 2025, I spent one night here. This was only my second time at a Marriott Residence Inn, and my first stay, in Manhattan, had been very nice, so I may be comparing them unfairly. The seating area was useful, there were good outlets by the bed, and breakfast was good, though the coffee didn't meet my standards. The bed was okay, maybe a 3 out of 5, and the standard-size pillows were decent. A king bed really should have king pillows, in my opinion. There was a constant tapping noise from the bathroom vent, like water hitting metal. Even with the windows closed, I could hear the highway. The room HVAC was loud and blew right onto the bed. In the lobby, the water dispenser didn't seem freshened up: in the morning the orange slices looked old, like they'd been there the day before, and the ice had all melted. The front desk attendant seemed not to care, or perhaps was too busy.

The staff were accommodating and the customer service was really good. The rooms were clean, and the included breakfast was a great spread, with eggs, sausage, waffles, potatoes, bagels, cereal, yogurt, juices, and chocolate milk. This was an excellent stay and a great place to be. Thanks!
