We had an early flight, so the airport location worked well, and there were plenty of restaurants we could walk to. The area felt safe in daylight, and we had no other issues. It’s a basic overnight motel stay, so keep expectations around amenities modest, especially since there’s no breakfast. We booked through Delta, a third-party site, and ended up with an accessible room we hadn’t requested. This is the first place I’ve stayed, even among lots of hostels, with three locks on the door. They lean into the Hollywood history, though the place fits the usual 1950s-style motel vibe.

The room was just okay: the window wouldn’t lock, the dresser wouldn’t close, there was a dirty washcloth on the shower head, and the sink could use better lighting. Still, the front desk service was amazing, and the afternoon shuttle driver was fantastic. They’ll pick you up at the airport and take you to Universal. I’m sorry I didn’t get the driver’s name. Aside from the room issues, I had a wonderful stay.

The Burbank location is hard to beat, and the comfortable rooms, decent fitness center, and inviting pool make this a cool place to stay. There’s plenty here for fans of True Romance and the Wallflowers: the Safari Inn was a prominent filming location for True Rimance and other films and TV shows, and it’s on the cover of one of the Wallflowers’ best-known albums. The real frustration was at the front desk. I asked for a bottle of water and was treated like a criminal. Please don’t ask for my ID and then try to charge me in front of other guests for something that may cost you $.50.

Free parking is a big reason we keep coming back. So many other places charge daily fees, and I feel like that’s just another way to price gouge customers. The hotel, rooms, and location work perfectly for us, and we’ve stayed here three times in 2025. Staff are always friendly, respectful, and helpful. Melanie deserves a special mention. Mel is super nice and the real deal when it comes to customer service, going above and beyond to make our stays memorable. Thank you, Safari Inn Staff and Mel. Happy New Year!

The shuttle was the highlight for me. Getting around without worrying about driving or parking made everything stress-free. The staff were so welcoming, and I felt secure at the property throughout my stay. My room was very clean, and the location was just a few minutes from the downtown theme park area. A perfect experience from start to finish. Highly recommend.
