Montecito Inn

It's a charming old-world hotel, with a nice lobby, a lovely pool, helpful front desk staff, and responsive housekeeping. The location is great, close to everything and the beach. My room was small and could use an update, though, and the walls between rooms are paper thin. The third floor is being remodeled, with deafening work from early morning until after 8 pm. I wish I'd known before booking. Hopefully they'll add soundproofing too. If you stay during the work, expect a lot of noise, and head to the beach, the patio at honor bar, or the bar at lucky’s for some fun.

The rooms were small but lovely, with a nice charm, and the staff were wonderful throughout my business trip. Valet parking was easy and prompt, and the beach was only a short walk away. As an East Coaster, I was up at 4 am, and there was always fresh, good-quality coffee and pastries out. Jennifer was so helpful and a delight to chat with. The photo was taken on the five-minute walk to the beach, gorgeous!

Lions Tale downstairs was a great recommendation from Eric at check-in. He got us to our room quickly and took the time to tell us about all the joys of Montecito. In January 2026, four of us girls spent a few days visiting Montecito/Santa Barbara and stayed at The Montecito Inn. We had delightful small bites and cocktails at the bar/lounge, and the Bread Pudding to finish was so good, yum yum yum. Joshua looked after us and was a joy. We'll definitely return.

I won't stay here again. The price on hotel,com was about 200, then the hotel added a 95 resort fee. For that price, the mini fridge wasn't even stocked. I had a single room, and the bathroom was so cramped that the toilet was right against the wall and barely usable. The total cost was a 50% increase I hadn't expected.
