A White Jasmine Inn

The gardens were my favorite place to sit, and I usually left the door open while I was out there. It was quiet in this residential spot, with some off-street parking, and lots of shops within walking distance. The service and privacy are what you're paying for here, along with the gardens. The room itself is cozy, warm, simple, and private, but don't expect much space. I stayed in the Hideaway and really liked the decor. It rained while I was in Santa Barbara, and there was even a little awning over my room that looked newly installed. A thoughtful touch. Everything was clean, the coffee in the room was good, and my jacuzzi worked fine. Just make sure the water is above the jets before turning it on. The host was entertaining, if a little odd, and the kitchen staff were lovely and helped me arrange something special for my wife. Wonderful visit. I'd stay here again.

The cottages aren't part of the main house itself, they're separate properties across from it and beside it. Breakfast has moved to the parlor, which makes it nicer for chatting, though the food was about average. Our room was clean, a decent size, and the hosts clearly try hard to please. The location is great for downtown and the wharf.

We had a great walk around the neighborhood, which felt safe day and night. The White Jasmine Inn was clean and orderly, and the host was friendly and courteous. It's only minutes from downtown, the funk zone, and the Santa Barbara Bowl. We enjoyed our visit and highly recommend it.

The Victorian Suite had a nice atmosphere, and the grounds and patio were lovely. Breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed the stay very much, especially with downtown restaurants, the Museum, and bookstores so close by in this old, quaint neighborhood. The one drawback was the very small bathroom and shower stall.
