AutoCamp Santa Barbara

My friends and I had a blast. The bathroom was nicer than mine at home, and they really had everything we needed. The location was fantastic, close to downtown SB, grocery stores, and the beach. Two things bothered me: our lot didn't have its own proper parking space, so we had to parallel park our vehicle in a tight spot every evening, and the concierge was completely closed on Sunday.

The cute, neat airstream trailer gave us a different kind of trip, and we liked it at first sight. Still, there were a few things that left us dissatisfied. The bedding sheet didn't seem clean enough and made us sneeze. The tub was a bit small, so we had to be careful not to let shower water spill out. With temperatures in the low 40s, we ran the loud, annoying heater all night, which was a nightmare. The trailer is on busy streets, so biking didn't seem practical. During our two-day stay, none of the bikes were used, including by our neighbors. I think this autocamp could be a great vacation choice if it were closer to the beach, with places to ride, and if the weather were warm and comfortable.

We rode the beach cruisers and had an absolute ball. The roads felt very safe, with designated bike lanes, and the beach was just 3 miles/15 minutes away. The trailers were bright and airy, larger than most hotel rooms, and had all the amenities you'd expect. They were clean and felt like our own private space. Check-in was easy, too. My only wish was for stronger shower pressure. AutoCamp is a fun way to see Santa Barbara and dip your toes into camping with something outside the usual routine. Normal can be pretty boring. If you're up for being a little more adventurous, give it a try. Even if it doesn't end up being for you, it's an experience you'll remember. Worth it!

We spent two relaxing, enjoyable days here. The property is in a strange location, but once we were parked it didn't affect us. A few practical things would have helped to know ahead of time. The website photos showed wooden chairs, but those have been replaced with a patio table and four chairs. We bought a table and chairs to bring because the site didn't mention the change. The fridge is a very small dorm size, so we bought an ice chest. There were eating utensils and place ware, but no skillets, pots, or cooking sheets for preparing food. The shower was great, though the hot water didn't last long. The bed was comfortable. There's a small TV in the bedroom, but we didn't use it because of where it was placed, and we spent our time outside. The inside was clean, but the outside could probably be washed more often. An umbrella or awning would help when the sun is strongest. There was some tree shade, depending on which unit you had. Knowing these things now, we'd be able to make our stay a little more comfortable and would go back. Hope this helps someone! Danielle and Ken A.
