Crowne Plaza San Francisco Airport by IHG

I checked out the same night and had to find another hotel at 4 a.m. just to get some sleep. The location near Topgolf and the secure-feeling parking were the best parts of my stay at Crowne Plaza. We dropped our things after checking in and went out, but when we got back, the bed was so hard and uncomfortable that I couldn’t relax and kept tossing around. The AC was loud, and even running nonstop it never cooled the room. It stayed hot and stuffy. I wouldn’t recommend staying here based on how uncomfortable the room was.

The room was clean and comfortable, with a great bed. I ordered a couple of Caesar salads to go from the restaurant, and they were perfect at just $11 each. I’d read some really bad reviews, so I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The hall was noisy because the guests in the room sharing our wall were loud, but the soundproofing worked so well that I couldn’t hear a thing inside. This isn’t the Hyatt Regency, but it’s a great value. I also found free parking on a side street just past the Hyatt on the left. It felt safe, and there were lots of fancy cars parked overnight.

The hotel is only worth considering if you need to be close to the airport. I’m not picky, but I was very unhappy with the stay. The duvet cover had a stain and felt unclean, the sofa was filthy and greasy, and the room, furniture, and elevators all seemed old. The chair was broken. They charge $24 a day to park in a lot with badly cracked pavement and grass growing through it. The policies were unclear too, with different front desk staff giving different answers. The front desk attitude was poor and the service unfriendly. I don’t recommend staying here unless location is your main concern.

We were pleasantly surprised by the restaurant and drinks at Crowne Plaza, especially the bartender, whose name I can’t remember. The location is really convenient, the room was great, the bed comfortable, and the shower head was great. No complaints!
