The room was clean, the bedding was fresh, and the bathroom was spotless with hot water. The raised furniture made it look like the floors had been cleaned thoroughly. Towels were provided, as was a small coffee maker with coffee and disposable cups. The air conditioning worked, though it was noisy enough to sound like a plane taking off. The walls had some wear, but it didn’t affect our night. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The one thing missing was a hairdryer. Staff said it had been stolen, and there wasn’t another one available. Since we were only there for one night during a stopover, it wasn’t a major problem. Overall, a pleasant, hassle-free stay.

After Thanksgiving dinner, we stopped here and spoke with the son. He quoted $450 a week, and we agreed before returning to our other hotel. We called again before packing everything, just to make sure, and he repeated that it was $450 a week. So we packed up and drove 31 minutes to what was supposed to be a cheaper, nicer place. We have a seven-month-old baby girl, and it was cold outside. When we arrived, he said we’d have to wait for his dad to get there at 10 p.m. because he didn’t know the price. The room wasn’t even nicer than the hotel we’d left. My husband asked for his dad’s number so he could confirm, since he had work at 5 in the morning and our baby was sleepy. The son said he couldn’t get the number because his dad was asleep. We took the baby and left. Now she’s screaming in the freezing cold while we unload all our things back at the other hotel. I’m beyond mad. If I could sue, I would. Maybe it would be different without a baby, but I’m not sure.

At $145 a night on a weekday, this felt overpriced. I’d say it was maybe worth $75 a night, and Motel 6 would have been better. The rooms need paint, the beds are hard as rock, and breakfast tasted like it had been sitting out for days.

Mr. John said the place was pet friendly, but I wouldn’t stay here again. There had been a flood, the walls were wet, and I guarantee there’s black mold in them because you can smell it. I’m surprised there wasn’t a fire. Anything valuable gets packed up by the maids at the end of the day. They do a half-assed job, and Maggie, the head housekeeper, will argue till the end. If you have beer, leave it for the hardworking construction guys. They’re a bunch of good guys, and the maids don’t deserve it.

Lauri was happy to take our reservation over the phone when we called to check that they were pet friendly. She was very nice and suggested we try a local café called the dish room for supper, and it was amazing. The room is clean and nice, with a little kitchenette and fridge, and everything works. The bed was made beautifully when we came in, though I forgot to take a photo before checking for bed bugs. Good news, it was clean and clear.
