Motel 6 Burlington, NC

We stayed after vehicle trouble during an overnight trip, arriving around 3 a.m., and didn’t have the energy to inspect everything. I was told checkout was at 2 p.m. I mentioned that to one man, but later a woman and an older man knocked and then came into the room. There was blood on the sheets beside the bed, mold in the bathroom corner, no drain plug, no extra toilet paper, a shelf coming apart, and a gross fridge. The vending machine didn’t work, and there was no coffee. For the dog, there was no decent grassy area, just concrete. Junk cars were parked there, and the stair kick plates had exposed metal. There was stuff everywhere, so I assume they may be remodeling the rooms.

The rooms and the place were neat, clean, and well maintained. Management will go to any length to meet your needs.

I needed somewhere for the night after my heat went out at home. The room was very nice, clean, well supplied, and had no bugs.

The people staying there were friendly, but the property felt badly neglected. The building looked run down from the road, with trash around the lot and a urine smell in the stairwell. On the way to our room, I passed huge rolling bins full of dirty towels and linens. There was also a police situation Sunday morning, though I don't know what it was about. The room had been renovated, but the cleaning was poor. There was poop on the wall behind the bathroom door, mold on the shower curtain, cobwebs with flies below the TV cabinet, and dust under the bed. The window had been broken and glued back together. The sofa mattress was so stained it looked like it belonged in a horror movie. It felt like the owners had only put lipstick on a pig.
