Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Butte by IHG

The breakfast area was excellent, and the hotel is conveniently just off the highway. Staff were professional and friendly, from the person who helped with my reservation by phone to the employees we met when we arrived. The whole place, including the pool, spa, and rooms, looked very clean. A few things could be better: the sofa bed was broken and uncomfortable, and of the two dryers in the laundry area, one didn't work well and the other was out of order. Both washers worked fine. It'd be useful to have outlets with both types of USB charging ports. They use Dove for all the soaps, and since my wife is allergic, we had to bring our own. There's a Walgreens within walking distance if you need supplies.

I'm writing this for my husband, who stayed two nights in room 224. The location was the only part he liked. His toilet kept running and wouldn't stay filled, and when he reported it, the front desk told him it sticks and showed him how to push down the red part inside the tank. No one came to fix it, so he had to do that every time he flushed on the second night. He also found long hairs in and on the tub, even though he's bald. At checkout, the employee said she'd tell maintenance and housekeeping, which didn't help him during the stay. He tried the hot tub, but the chlorine was so strong his eyes were burning within five minutes, and he wasn't even sure the tub had been cleaned after the previous guests. Not a good experience.

The beds were firm, the sheets soft, and you can choose between soft or firm pillows. Breakfast had a lot to pick from: biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage patties, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, juice, toast, cinnamon rolls, pancakes, coffee, and bagels. I didn't use the pool, but it opens early and stays open until 11pm, which I appreciate as a mom. The hotel is well kept, quiet despite being right off the freeway, and the woman at the front desk on the evening of 7/19 was very friendly and helpful. My one gripe is that the towels and toilet paper feel like sandpaper. I'd stay here again.

The room was clean and smelled nice, and the staff were friendly. The water pressure wasn't great, and my A/C couldn't keep a steady temperature. It was either too cold or too hot.
