Diamond View Motel

Nothing fancy, and the rooms are small, dated, and worn, though clean. The view was of dumpsters, and parking is limited. It’s quiet and I felt safe. The owner/operator was friendly. Despite the drawbacks, I’d come back.

We were traveling a thousand miles from home to bring home a toddler at risk, and needed somewhere safe to land. We arrived late with the child needing the toilet, and Lisa let us take keys to see the room so we could help right away. She also gave me a beautiful plant to take home. Kindness like that doesn’t happen often, and I want to thank Lisa for making us feel special at a difficult time. The room was comfortable and had a fridge, microwave, coffee pot, and extra blankets. Google won’t let me change profiles even when I’m logged in correctly, so this review is under the wrong account. If you’re passing through Susanville, this is a good budget spot.

The heater worked great on a stormy night, and the room was comfortable and in good condition, though a little old-looking. The staff were very nice and polite. We had a really comfortable stay.

The bed wasn’t new, and when you sat on it, the springs or marks would linger for days. The bathroom also needs a much better cleaning. It looks like whoever tried to fix the place up ran short on money. The window sign said “NEWLY REMODELED,” but the bathroom joints, corners, edges, and tops and bottoms weren’t sealed. It makes me worry about black mold developing.
