Comfort Inn Cadillac

We spent two nights at the Comfort Inn, and the water was cold to lukewarm. Maintenance came to check, but only told us things we already knew. They didn’t offer another room or any other fix. When I asked the front desk for a full refund, they said they could refund one night, but we’d have to leave. Leave? I’d still paid for the full night. The only thing they offered was the door. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate. Avoid this place, the Holiday Inn Express up the road is much better.

The pool and hot tub were closed, and the showerhead needed tightening before we could use it. Even then, the water pressure was only so-so. At checkout, the staff member was much nicer, but I had to wait while someone checked the room for the deposit. We’d already booked and paid online when they told us they’d hold an extra $300 on our card because we were “local.” I live an hour and a half away, so I wouldn’t really call that local, but okay. The woman at the front desk seemed like she’d rather be anywhere else. Punishing people for living too close to a hotel doesn’t seem like good business to me.

The room was clean, and breakfast was great. The customer service was exemplary too. Booking.com had sent the wrong virtual card number, so it kept getting declined even though the charge had already gone through on my credit card. On a Sunday night, Booking.com’s AI support kept repeating that they needed a valid booking number, with no human available. Management eventually overrode the booking information and helped me out.

The rest of the stay was fine, but in the morning I found what looked like actual poop on a towel. It wasn’t a stain, and I nearly touched my face with it. I complained, but the front desk person said she’d let housekeeping know. I wasn’t offered a free night or any other compensation. To me, this reflects poor leadership and laziness across the hotel.
