Best Western Executive Inn

I was welcomed politely at the front desk and checked into Room 209, which looked clean at first. Then I noticed toilet paper packed into the peephole on the front door, apparently missed from a previous guest, and the AC whined constantly. I had booked through November 25, but a family emergency came up on the morning of November 24. I let the property know around 6:00 AM and returned the keys by 7:00 AM. Since I couldn't stay that last night, I asked for a partial refund. I was initially told that couldn't be done because a third party handled the reservation. The third party, though, said the property's management had declined the request. When I spoke with the manager, I was told I needed to give 24 hours' notice, even though checkout was set for 11:00 AM the next day. I left the room well before checkout and feel it's unreasonable to keep the payment for a night I didn't use, given what had happened. I'm dissatisfied, and this will affect whether I stay there again. My stay was from November 22 through November 24.

If you're passing through Cairo and need somewhere to rest, Best Western is a good choice. The staff are really nice, the rooms are exceptionally clean, and breakfast is so good.

The breakfast was a letdown, with a broken pancake machine, lukewarm eggs, soggy hash browns, and not much to choose from. The fitness facilities weren't working either. Before checkout, my wife found a trash bag with empty beer bottles in a dresser drawer.

Dorothy, the housekeeper, was great, and so was the front desk service. Everything was very clean, the food was good, and I'd stay here again for sure.
