Budget Inn

The place was very clean, the staff were great, and it was cheap. But wow, way too loud. It's right beside the freeway, with semis using their Jake brakes all night and trains passing early every morning.

If a cheap bed is all you need and you're not particular, this might work. The AC and TV were good, and the women at the desk tried to help as much as they could. Keep your expectations low 👍 After a long drive, check-in was a mess. At around 4:30, well past the 3 p.m. check-in time, I was told to come back later because the room was either occupied or still dirty. I returned, then had to move again because that room's deadbolt wouldn't lock. By the time I got into a third room, I was tired of bothering the desk and just wanted a shower. The cleaning was poor, too. There were drips, splatters, and handprints on the mirrors, TV, and door handles. Dust covered the surfaces, food was caked inside the fridge, and the floor had dirt, hair, and dead bugs. The toilet still had waste in it, and the shower shelves were coated in soap scum. It seemed like housekeeping hadn't been trained properly and no one checked their work. Having to clean up myself after all that moving around was the last straw, so I wouldn't recommend it. Still, if you just need somewhere to stay out of the way, this is it.

The woman who checked us in was great. That's the one good thing I can say. Our room's AC didn't work, and the curtains left part of the window uncovered, so we had to use a blanket. We ran out of toilet paper. In the morning and again that evening, no one came to the window when we rang the bell. When I called and told the man we'd tried twice, he yelled at me and was very rude. I'll never come back. We'd booked because we had to travel to Idaho for a family funeral. Booking.com showed no hotels left in caldwell, and unfortunately I hadn't read the reviews first. I wouldn't recommend this place.

My husband is staying here, and so far he's had a very pleasant visit. The woman at the front desk was exceptionally nice, and his room was super clean. The AC and TV both work well. For the weekly rate, it's well worth the price.
