Rainbow Lodge and Inn

The room was beautiful, the location was lovely, and everything was very clean. The owner's son checked me in and knew a third party would be paying. We'd paid the initial costs through the weekend, and everything seemed fine. We were supposed to move Sunday morning to a two-bedroom cottage, so I went over to ask for the cottage details and a ledger for the third party to pay. The owner yelled at me, saying he owned the business and what his son said didn't matter. If you have dogs, especially any kind of service animal, don't go there. I felt like my family and I were being watched the whole time, and my husband said he had a bad feeling about the place. We left. The rooms are beautiful, but I felt uncomfortable throughout the stay. I'd never treat anyone the way that man treated me. I'll post this wherever I can leave a review on social media and elsewhere, because nobody should be treated like that.

I slept well in a clean, comfortable room and had no problems with it. The only minor annoyance was how loud the heating and air conditioning unit was, but I got used to it pretty quickly.

The pool was a big plus, and on the 4th of July the owners put on a small fireworks show for kids that wrapped up early. It stayed peaceful, with no parties or noise. The owner and his family were welcoming, polite, and clearly care about the place. We felt safe and at home. Rainbow Lodge is an older converted building with lots of quirky charm, but it was cozy, quiet, and incredibly clean. Our room had a full kitchen, a comfortable bed, cold A/C, and thoughtful details like extra outlets, good lighting, and somewhere to put our bags. It was cold enough in July that we needed blankets. Housekeeping came by every day for fresh towels and trash, and was very respectful. Highly recommend!

Breakfast was disappointing, but the rooms were clean and cute, with a homey feel, and parking right out front was free. The location is excellent, close to Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, and downtown CS.
