Ken-Bar Lodge

I've lived here before, and I'm staying short term again now. The staff are top tier and have helped me and others on fixed incomes find shelter for a minimal fee. For what it costs, I can't complain about my experience. It's an older place with some shortcomings, but overall it's not bad. It's quiet by 10 pm except on weekends, when the bar is open Thursday through Saturday, maybe Sunday too, I'm not sure. I'd give it around 6.5/7 out of 10.

The rooms were clean, and employees were always available when we needed help. Customer service was very friendly, and the rates are affordable. There's a bar and restaurant on the property, with the lake and beach down the road and horse and bike trails across the street. Town is only 5 miles away. I'd highly recommend it to friends and family.

The rooms are just so-so, and the owners are rude to locals. They want a $100 deposit just to stay. The beds are worn out, the TVs are old glass-screen models, and the hallway-side doors have tape on them in every room. Definitely not somewhere I'd bring kids or family.

This is karen lovett. I stayed here many years ago, during a rough time in my life, and it was a horrible place then. This weekend was amazing, though. The people were friendly, and it was very clean and peaceful. I'll be telling everyone what a great place it is.
