The way Alta handled our eviction and belongings has been awful. My husband and I were evicted on the same day my car was towed, with no notice about either one. The sheriff claimed they had warned him on January 8th and 18th, but we never received anything. We were trying to make a plan with friends to move our things when they trespassed us. How were we meant to get everything out while also trying to keep my car from being towed? The law, as I understand it, gives us 15-30 days to retrieve our belongings, but we were given no warning at all. After the eviction, someone took belongings worth more than $5,000 in less than 24 hours. The men moving things out of my husband's apartment spoke Spanish and said they were going to take my comics, PS5, TV, and other items. One even offered me $250 for my PS5 to “help.” An older man moving our things outside told me nothing would be touched until Thursday morning and that the gate would be shut and locked by the end of their workday, around 4:30-5pm. It was never locked. They have video of someone taking our things but won't show it to us. A redheaded woman in the office told a tenant who is our friend that it was basically free game and he could take whatever he wanted. Now they want to take us to small claims court over a he-said-she-said dispute, even though there are three cameras where our items were. They say it wasn't a “crime.” The hallways smell like weed, cigarettes, meth, and dog urine. The power cuts out for no clear reason, and the fire alarm goes off every other night. My husband was promised a microwave and never got one. He submitted requests about electrical problems from October through December, but nothing was done, even though they have 96 hours to fix electrical issues. Whether or not the induction stove still lets you cook, they won't fix things. There are no signs about parking in the dirt lot. We plan to pursue legal action, and I hope anyone else who had a terrible experience will contact us about making this a larger lawsuit. Alta shouldn't be operating as an apartment complex without basic human decency. Sincerely, two military veterans.

Kawehi and Dee made a real difference while helping me sort out my apartment transfer. They were kind, professional, attentive, and quick to find a solution that worked for me. The new management team handled the whole situation promptly and with genuine concern. I'd happily recommend renting here and working with Kawehi or Dee. Their helpful attitude made the process much easier.

Update: I called on Monday, 2/16/2026, and spoke with Caitlin. As soon as I said who I was, she seemed to have an attitude because she'd seen my Google review. She wanted photos showing the unit wasn't damaged. I told her to zoom in on the picture in my review, but she said she wouldn't zoom in on a review photo. I said it seemed like she had an attitude about all the negative Google reviews. She yelled and hung up. Caitlin, you seem to have anger issues and can't do your job without letting your emotions take over. This could've been avoided with a simple walkthrough before I left, but the office was too busy, as usual. It's unprofessional to take people's money and then get angry when they call you out. Now they won't even answer the phone. Truth hurts, huh? Moving into Alta Apartments was the worst decision I've made. I needed a place badly at the time, but I regret it, and I regret it even more now that I'm gone. They said they'd remove a late fee when I moved out, then charged me for a hole in the floorboard that was already there when I moved in. I always take photos and videos at move-in for this reason, but it won't let me post th... People experiencing homelessness are always getting into the building, and someone sets off the fire alarm repeatedly through the night. Security is a joke. I've had to handle problems with people experiencing homelessness myself while the guard sat in his car on his phone. They tell you to leave the key in your unit and say they'll do a final walkthrough before returning your deposit. It was almost a month before I got an email listing damage and fees I didn't cause. Nobody called first. They just charged me and sent paperwork. The electricity, water, and gas bills gradually go up. You're not billed just for your unit, they base the amount on the building's total use. There have also been tenants with meth labs that caught fire more than once. Stop taking people's money, Alta. This place is a joke. You've been warned.

Edit, six months in and things have been bad. The fire alarm goes off constantly, sometimes nearly every day, whether it's daytime or the middle of the night. Police are here so often it could be a station. Someone on drugs went wild with a fire extinguisher, there's now a pile of poop on the staircase I use every day, and it looks like someone tore signs off the walls down the hall. The gates and community doors are often left open by residents. They don't give 24 hours' notice before entering apartments, which matters because I work nights and have a dog. A package was stolen from the mailroom. Management never got back to me, even though they said they'd check the cameras and let me know. I went to the police. My truck was hit in the parking lot and another resident's car was hit within a week of that. I know accidents happen, but the timing was awful. This place feels gross and unsafe. I've lived in a few inexpensive places, and this is the worst by far despite presenting itself as nice. If breaking the lease weren't so expensive, I'd leave. I also wasn't told this is apparently an event center. When events are happening, watch out in the parking lot, people nearly hit you. With the gates open, they speed in looking for parking and almost hit you and your pets. Event guests also crowd the downstairs corridors, making it uncomfortable and nearly impossible to use the gym. My first experience was already poor, before I even moved in. I was supposed to get my keys on Sunday, but the office is closed Sundays, so I needed to collect them earlier. They asked me to come Friday at 11, but I work 12-hour night shifts in an ER. Once I realized I couldn't make that work and needed sleep, I texted to say I'd come Saturday instead. They were supposed to be open until 5. I drove half an hour, found nobody there, and a resident pointed out a sign saying they'd be back at 2. I waited, but 2 came and went. I'd called and left several messages, then waited until 2:45 and still nobody was in the office. Current residents said the same thing had happened the previous week. I was only told they wouldn't be open Sunday, never that they'd also be absent Saturday. I lost a moving day and a day I'd already paid for because staff weren't there when expected. They have a texting service and could've told me after I said I was coming Saturday. I got up early for the keys hoping to sleep before that night's ER shift, and their poor communication and unprofessional conduct cost me that rest. I wouldn't recommend living here. I dread the year I've signed up for. I'll update if things get better or worse, but my first impression was that staff service would be poor. If I could go back, I wouldn't have signed and would've found somewhere else.

I can't wait to get out of this cesspool. The indoor pool is so cloudy and gross it has to be a health hazard, and the outdoor pool hasn't been open for three years, despite the amenities they advertise. The fire alarm goes off so often that most residents ignore it. It's a waste of emergency resources and taxpayer money when fire departments have to respond, and I hate to think what would happen if there were a real fire. Trash gets left at the top of the entrance stairs for a week. Management says housekeeping isn't there on weekends, but what about the other five days? It's a lovely welcome home after work. This is a slum, and management acts like slumlords. I've had no water for the third time in less than a month. They come up with excuses instead of fixing things. They're still running sprinklers in the dead of winter, then seem surprised when pipes have problems. It doesn't take a genius. Another weekend, another pile of garbage on the stairs. That's what the neighbors think of you, and management doesn't care. Pathetic.
