For a budget motel, this worked well for me. The room was clean and kept up, the staff were nice, and the location suited me. I visit my dad nearby, so I’ll book here again next time I’m in town. The price felt fair, and my experience makes me think its bad reputation may be in the past. Tell ’em Jimmy sent you! ;) Four stars from me.

I was nervous after reading earlier reviews, but my stay went smoothly. The room was roomy, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast had good coffee, waffles, cereal, and a few other things. You can get to pretty much everything nearby, and electric bikes and scooters are within a five-minute walk if you don’t want to drive. It was great for the price, handy for a weekend in Colorado Springs, and close enough to Manitou Springs to explore there too. I’d come back.

I wasted $400 on the dirtiest, worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The place smelled awful, the bathroom lights were broken, and the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. The sheets had burn holes, while plaster was peeling from the walls and there were holes in them too. The photos say plenty. Out back, people hung around in cars all night, many of them broken down, and some windows were boarded up. It looked and smelled like a crack hotel. Do not stay here.

For $44, you get a clean room, a comfortable bed, and a basic breakfast. The front desk clerk was courteous and even let me check in early, and I didn’t notice any smoke smell. It’s not the Ritz Carlton, but why pay $120 at a Holiday Inn for a bed and shower when this saves you $75 for the same basics?
