The hotel itself was great: clean, modern, spacious, and comfortable. The lobby looked beautiful and welcoming, and the rooms felt fresh and well kept. My one-star rating is only because of Tiasha’s behavior, though I’ll still return when I’m back in town. The rest of the stay was great. When we first arrived, a woman looked right at my husband and me without saying hello or anything. We felt invisible. Instead, she was loudly yelling across the lobby and laughing with a coworker, as if she were at a party. She seemed to be getting off work, but it was unprofessional in front of guests. I believe her name tag said Tesha or Tiasha. I also heard her call a Hispanic coworker “slow,” which was disrespectful and unacceptable. A simple greeting and some kindness go a long way in customer service. Thankfully, Zack stepped in, greeted us warmly, and checked us in smoothly. He was friendly and professional. When I checked out the next day, he greeted me again in the hallway, showing the kind of consistent service guests should get.

My sister and her family had to leave their home because of water damage, and insurance arranged and paid for their stay at this hotel while repairs were being sorted out. She said the place was really nice and consistently clean, and they enjoyed staying there. I’m glad the hotel could accommodate them and treat them kindly.

The only issue was the housekeeping staff room across from mine. They were pretty loud, though they did seem to be having a good time. Otherwise, the hotel was great: clean, spacious rooms stocked with kitchen items and a full-size fridge. Breakfast had lots of options too.

I stayed in a one-bedroom suite with lots of space, a comfortable living area, and two large TVs. The complimentary breakfast had a nice variety, and the outdoor seating area with a small bonfire was a relaxing place to spend the evening. Every time I come to Clara, I’m going to stay here. Home2 Suites by Hilton Calera offers great value and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Special thanks to Zach and Joe for their professionalism and genuine hospitality. I highly recommend this place.
