The area around the hotel was nice, but the place itself felt creepy. Ventura County sheriff’s deputies were frequent visitors, too. I can’t believe this hotel is still in business, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, not even an enemy. The room was in awful shape. There were burn marks on the nightstand, blanket, and bedspread. The smoke alarm had been removed and was sitting in a puddle under the leaky sink. There wasn’t a room phone, and watching anything on the TV meant connecting it to your own mobile hotspot. The housekeeping staff were accommodating, but that didn’t make up for the rest.

We will never stay here again. This was the worst motel experience we’ve had, and the worst value for our money. The “continental breakfast” was just coffee, with no juice or food. The room had no bedside lamps, clock, handy outlets, charging ports, towel bars, hooks, or place to hang anything. There was no shelf for soap in the shower, and the curtain stopped short of the floor, so water soaked the area outside it. No tissues, notepad, or pen, either. The fridge and freezer were dirty, there was graffiti on the wall, and no emergency procedures were posted inside the room door. The blanket covered only the bottom half of the bed, and the bedspread had lots of holes. We had to ask for clean towels every day. When we checked in, several police cars were outside the rooms arresting someone. We saw several more the next day when we returned. There was nothing in the drawers, either.

I was assaulted by another guest, and the hotel never called 911. Then, even though I’d done nothing wrong, they refused to rent us another room. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemies. The hotel was regularly being raided by police over drug dealing that goes on there daily. The male manager was extremely rude. The rooms were dirty, and walking barefoot left the bottoms of my feet black. The carpeting looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in ages, and there was garbage around the grounds that sat for days without the bins being emptied. Ants covered the ground, bugs were everywhere in the rooms, towels were in short supply, and a few rooms had bedbugs. They advertise free breakfast, but charge extra for it. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

They didn’t have a room with a working TV when I arrived. The clerk personally went out to check five times, then gave me a full refund even though I’d booked through a third party. You don’t come across service like that very often.
