Calimesa Inn Motel

The pool was excellent, and the location is handy for supermarkets and good restaurants. It’s very clean, a little run down, but they’ve done a great job and I’d stay again. The drawback for us was that they wouldn’t allow a late check-out unless we paid a fee. That didn’t feel cool, especially with check-in at 3 pm and checkout by 11 am, not even 24 hours.

We stayed here for the second time before hiking in the San Gorgonio National Wilderness. It’s reasonably priced, with clean rooms of decent size and friendly front desk service. Several trailheads are about half an hour away, so the location works well.

We’re already looking forward to coming back. The rooms are very large and come with a mini fridge and freezer, microwave, hair dryer, ironing board, and more. There’s an outdoor pool, jacuzzi, and smoking areas, and the staff and rooms were exceptional. Dennys, shops, and gas stations are within walking distance. It’s easy to get to the interstate, while still being close to town. Five stars!

I drove in during the late afternoon planning to stay a night. The lights were on and there was a car beside the office, but the property felt abandoned and a bit scary. I drove around to check things out, and after 30 minutes there was still no activity and nobody in the office. I never saw a room, so I tried to be fair and gave it three stars, though the location and area seemed really sketchy, which is why that part gets one star. I still don’t understand why there wasn’t another vehicle in the parking lot.
