Calistoga Ranch, an Auberge Resort

The place was peaceful, the staff were great, and the heated pool was perfect for Spring Break. We even took the hike to the adjacent winery, Davis maybe?, with our seven-year-old, and all of us loved it. Heavenly bliss. There was a soiled tissue by the bed when we checked in very late at night, but they took care of it the next morning and cleaned the whole room again.

We held our wedding ceremony here, and the staff made everything feel easy. The setting is spectacular, the service top notch, and the on-site restaurant has a terrace with amazing views. The presentation and flavors were every bit as good as hoped. It is on the pricey side, but the experience is worth it.

We spent our honeymoon at Calistoga Ranch, and I can’t recommend CR highly enough, even after staying at some stellar places. The outdoor showers and our own hot tub made it tempting to stay at the Resort all day. If you do head out of the room, there’s a quiet pool or the spa. We had a superb couples massage. The on-property restaurant is a one-star restaurant, and the food shows it, phenomenal. The view could have been better given how beautiful the rest of the property is. Housekeeping cleaned our room promptly and thoroughly, and I especially want to thank them. I left a very expensive watch behind at checkout, but they were already in the room cleaning and were so honest that they radioed downstairs and got someone to catch up with me and return it. The tip I gave only begins to show how grateful I am. It was my wedding gift, and my new wife would have been very upset if I’d lost it. I can’t wait for another trip to Calistoga.

The fireplace made the cold winter evening feel so inviting, and my family and I were extremely impressed by the food. If you want somewhere peaceful and private, with an atmosphere that feels like Yosemite, The Lake house is the place. Thank you for such a memorable evening! We’ll all be back soon. :)
