The inn's grounds are lovely and well kept without feeling too manicured. The cottages sit along a quiet private drive, and the old-fashioned look is quaint and lovely, not funky. Our king bed was so comfortable that we both slept exceptionally well. Lily and Cindy were there as hosts, and they generously answered our questions and shared lots of information. Breakfast is served until 11, which was nice. It was a cut above typical hotel breakfast, with Bob’s Red Mill oatmeal, fresh fruit, and really good croissants. The breakfast room felt warm and welcoming, with games, books, and a big fireplace. Our room had original art by local artists, quality linens, readable bedside lamps, and a fireplace that made it extra cozy. The skylight brought in light while keeping the room private. There were two oversized upholstered armchairs that were both comfortable, plus a front porch with two Adirondack-style chairs and tables for warmer weather. The old-style jacuzzi tub worked perfectly and was incredibly relaxing. They seem to have thought of the little things too, from umbrellas and yoga mats to picnic baskets. There's also a mini-fridge and Keurig coffee maker in the mini-kitchen.

We had an ADA accessible cottage, with a larger shower than the standard rooms, though it didn't have a screen front door. The TV setup was a bit cumbersome with the cabinet and furniture. The inn is in a lovely, heavily treed spot, within walking distance of everything. Staff were friendly, we liked the breakfast pastries, and we enjoyed the complimentary 'cruiser' bikes.

Calistoga was beautiful, but the $500 charge at the end put a damper on our weekend. They charged us for cigar odor without confirming it with us. My husband had two cigars only in the designated smoking area, yet they charged our card without notifying us. So even if you use the designated area, you may still be charged if others are using it too. They wouldn't have a reasonable discussion about it. Be aware, you or your credit card company will have to file a claim. It was a shame for a lovely weekend to end this way, and I only wish we'd stayed somewhere else.

We got much more than expected: the place was quiet, well maintained, and within walking distance of everywhere. There were lots of little touches, including a picnic backpack ready for hikes or concerts in the park. Special thanks to Lily for being so pleasant and sharing her homegrown grapes. Amazing stay.

We picked this cottage for a nearby wedding because we wanted to bring our dog, and it was one of the few dog-friendly places. The front desk staff were extremely friendly, showed me around, and mentioned they'd given us a room with a large bed because my dog is a bit bigger. There was a dog bed and dishes ready in the room. It feels like home, with more space than a typical hotel room. The cottage is adorable, the bed is extremely comfortable, and there's a super deep tub with jets. They stock pastries from a nearby bakery, so we got a huge, excellent croissant free each morning. We really enjoyed our time there and would absolutely return.
