Hilton Garden Inn Silver Spring White Oak

This was my fourth stay, and this time I booked two rooms from April 2 to 9, 2026. We won’t be back unless things change. I forgot to take pictures, but the rooms and bathrooms badly need updating. The bedding didn’t fit the beds, the thin comforter looked old and overused, and all the pillows were very soft, old, and smelled. I couldn’t tell whether the bedding was actually washed with soap. They should get new bedding first, before looking into a partnership with Tide or another brand. The refrigerator didn’t cool or freeze, and the microwave was ancient. The rooms smelled, maybe from the old carpet or the AC. The bathrooms need renovation too. Covering mold with new caulking won’t stop it from growing, and there was mold in the holes of the showerheads. I tried cleaning it with Lysol as best I could because finding another hotel would have been hell. It seemed like the general manager hadn’t inspected the property in years. With large organizations nearby holding events for people from all over the world, Hilton can do better. Do your research before staying. I wish there were a Home suites in the area. We also saw a car in the parking area full of garbage, and it seemed someone staying at the hotel was homeless. I stayed at one in Tennessee where the bed was like heaven and everything smelled great and was immaculate.

The front desk attendant was great and moved me to another room because of the noise. The bed in the new room was hard, like an old spring mattress, and the paid breakfast buffet wasn’t worth it. It was the same quality as a typical hotel breakfast. The stay was fine, but I expected more from a Hilton.

It took some effort for GPS to get us there, but my wife and I finally arrived over Mother’s Day weekend and checked in. When we went to the shower, she spotted three roaches crawling in it. We reported it at once, and the desk attendant was very apologetic. He gave us another room and said we could speak to a manager in the morning about getting one night reimbursed. There wasn’t a manager the next morning. The desk said one would be there the following day, but when we came back, we got the same answer. We explained how upset we were and asked for a call, but nobody ever called back. When I called the manager, he refused to reimburse us for that day. This was very unprofessional and unacceptable. We’ll never be back.

I’ve stayed here multiple times on business trips, and on more than half of those stays there were teens shouting in the hallway near 10 p.m., playing hide-and-seek along the hall and around multiple rooms. This place is awful. I don’t recommend it.
