Camas Boutique Hotel

The room was tiny, the TV kept having problems, and the walls were so thin we could hear through them. The third-floor shower had a lot of issues too. The building's history doesn't make this feel worth the price to me. I'd rather stay at a Holiday Inn, save money, and keep my sanity. I was also charged $10 at the desk even though the app said I would only owe $5. I don't think the room should cost this much when the bathroom is shared with other guests. If someone with foot fungus uses the shower and the cleaner hasn't cleaned it properly, I could catch it. No thanks. The no-refund policy means your smile fades as soon as you see how small the room is, and you regret booking. I was told I'd have to pay more when I arrived, too.

Camas was a fun place to explore on foot, and as a woman traveling alone I felt completely safe. The room was small but arranged well, clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet. Breakfast at the café down the street was delicious and free. The old building is beautiful. I wandered around admiring the architecture, and there are lots of amenities, including kitchens and places to relax. Such a great hidden gem. I'll be back.

Parking was in a dark lot two blocks away, which was especially awkward with a car full of road-trip gear. I was also surprised to find a $5 gratuity on the bill that I hadn't approved. The place felt musty and old rather than charming. The walls were thin, the carpets were gross, and the AC unit was awful. For the price, it really wasn't worth it. I wish we hadn't checked in so late, since we might have been able to ask for a refund. I can't figure out how it got three stars.

The front desk staff were really friendly and helpful, and we had a wonderful stay. Our room had a private bathroom and a lovely view of the tree-lined street. There was a Keurig and a small fridge in the room, plus a second-floor atrium with lots of seating and a microwave for heating up that last slice of pizza. We'll definitely return next time we're in Camas.
