Cambria Shores Inn

I booked last minute after my friends’ hotel next door sold out, and ended up being so glad I stayed here. It blew the other place out of the water. The pictures online don’t do it justice. The grounds were spacious and well kept, with grassy spots and lounge chairs where I could relax with my pup. They even supplied dog towels, bowls, and other thoughtful pet amenities. There was a microwave in the room, which was handy for both of us. Most rooms had at least a partial ocean view, except maybe the ones in the back corner. The staff were genuinely kind and helpful, and I loved the cozy coffee bar, wine bar, and breakfast basket delivered to my door each morning. I was blown away by the stay. Highly recommend!

One thing to know before coming: Cambria is a very small, remote town, and absolutely everything closes at 8pm. Seriously, everything. Come hungry after 7pm at your own risk. If you want nightlife or late nights, the whole city of Cambria isn’t for you. But if you prefer quiet and can’t stand that kind of scene, you’ll love it here. For a relaxing retreat, the inn has everything I could ask for. The beach and ocean views are amazing, rooms are spacious and quiet, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast basket they hang on a hook outside every room each morning was great. There are plenty of places to lounge outside and enjoy the view, and several restaurants a short walk or drive away. The inn’s own restaurant area is small but nice.

We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it and come back. The rooms have been renovated, with fireplaces, and were clean and comfortable. A lovely breakfast was delivered to our room in the morning, and we enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening with a beautiful ocean view. We don’t have dogs, but the inn is very dog-friendly. The boardwalk along the length of Moonstone Beach made for a nice morning walk.
